Prostatitis
What is it?
Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland. It can have acute and chronic forms.
Why is it seen?
Bacterial infections, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections and immune system problems can cause prostatitis.
What are the Symptoms?
- Pain in the lower abdomen
- Burning during urination
- Frequent urination
- Fever and chills (in acute prostatitis)
- Pain in the groin area
Who Does It Occur in?
It is more common in men under the age of 50.
In which age range is it seen?
It is seen in men between the ages of 20-50.
Chronic Urinary Tract Infections
What is it?
Chronic urinary tract infections are recurrent and long-lasting urinary tract infections.
What causes them?
Bacterial infections, bladder or kidney stones, urinary tract abnormalities and a weak immune system can cause these infections.
What are the Symptoms?
- Frequent and urgent need to urinate
- Burning during urination
- Cloudy or bloody urine
- Pain in the lower abdomen
Who Does It Occur in?
It is more common in women, but it can also be seen in men and older people.
What Age Range Does It Occur?
It can occur at any age, but is usually more common in adults.
Menstrual Disorders
What is it?
Menstrual disorders are deviations from the normal menstrual cycle, irregular or painful menstruation.
Why are they seen?
Hormonal imbalances, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), stress, excessive weight loss or weight gain, thyroid problems and some medications can cause menstrual disorders.
What are the Symptoms?
- Irregular menstrual cycle
- Painful menstrual cramps
- Bleeding between menstrual periods
- Excessive bleeding or very little bleeding

It is common in women of reproductive age.

It can usually be seen at any age from adolescence to menopause.
Ovarian Cysts
What is it?
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form in the ovaries. Most cysts are benign.
Why are they seen?
Hormonal imbalances, endometriosis, pelvic infections and natural cysts that form during ovulation can cause this condition.
What are the Symptoms?
- Pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen
- Menstrual irregularities
- Difficulty urinating
- Abdominal swelling

It can be seen in women of all ages, but it is more common in women of reproductive age.

What is it?
Infertility is the inability to get pregnant for 1 year or longer despite regular and unprotected sexual intercourse.
Why is it seen?
Hormonal imbalances, ovulation problems, sperm quality problems, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and age factors can cause infertility.
What are the symptoms?
- Inability to get pregnant
- Irregular menstrual cycles
- Symptoms due to hormonal problems (e.g. acne, excessive hair growth)

It can be seen in both women and men.

It can occur at any age, but is more common in women over 35 and men over 40.
Infertility
What is it?
Infertility is defined as an advanced form of infertility and is the complete loss of the ability to become pregnant.
Why is it seen?
Ovulation disorders, serious problems in sperm production, advanced age, genetic factors and chronic diseases can cause infertility.

- Inability to get pregnant
- Symptoms due to hormonal problems

It can occur in both men and women, but is more common in people with certain genetic predispositions or serious health conditions.

Impotence
What is it?
Impotence is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection.
Why is it seen?
Vascular diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, hormonal imbalances, stress, anxiety and some medications can cause impotence.

- Inability to get an erection
- Inability to maintain an erection
- Sexual aversion

It is more common in men, especially in older people and those with chronic diseases.

It can be seen at any age, but it is generally more common in men aged 40 and over.
Early Menopause
What is it?
Early menopause is the onset of menopausal symptoms before the age of 40.
Why is it seen?
Genetic factors, autoimmune diseases, certain medical treatments (e.g. chemotherapy) and lifestyle factors can cause early menopause.
What are the Symptoms?
- The end of the menstrual cycle
- Hot flashes
- Night sweats
- Vaginal dryness
- Mood changes
Who Does It Occur in?
It is more common in women, especially in those with a family history of early menopause.
